Eva Marie Higgins, 97 of Solon died Friday, December 7, 2007 at the Solon Nursing Care Center.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Solon where there will be a 5 p.m. Rosary.  Visitation will be an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Eva was born June 17, 1910 in Frenchville, Maine, the daughter of Denis and Edith Rossignol Roy.  She married Donald W. Higgins on November 2, 1927 in Brunswick, Canada.

Eva is survived by her four children; Roy (Dorothy) Higgins, Rita Sears, Evelyn Fortier, all of Florida and Donna (Albert) Nath of Solon; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, one half brother, and three half sisters all of Maine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, one brother, two sisters, one half brother, and two half sisters.

Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or to the Solon Nursing Care Center.
