Eugene Bernard Krob, 77 of Solon, died Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.  Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, at Brosh Chapel in Solon, where there will be a 6 p.m. Vigil Service and an 8 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary.  Visitation will also be an hour prior to services Tuesday at the Church.

Gene was born December 13, 1930 in Lisbon, the son of Milo and Mayme Murphy Krob.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Mary's Council 12129 and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Gene is survived by his siblings: John (Carol) Krob of Tipton, and Marilyn (Morrie) Pitlick of Oxford; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, it was Gene's request to have memorials directed to the Solon Library or the charity of the donor's choice.
