Eric Eugene "Bubba" Watson, 55, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in his home. Public visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private Celebration of Life Services will be at Kingdom Encounter Church, located at 701 25th Street NE. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The family asks everyone in attendance to please wear Cowboy and or Hawkeye attire in his honor. Also, please wear a mask and practice social distancing as you attend the services.
Eric was born September 11, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Dennis Eugene Watson and Eloise Pullens Brown. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington. Eric worked at Windstream for over 20 years. He was a passionate Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboy fan. Eric enjoyed listening to old music in the car with his sons, playing video games, watching his fish, and most of all spending time with friends and family.
Eric is survived by his sons Bryce C. Watson, Tavian J. Watsonand Chad Klauer; his daughters Becky Kammes and Amanda Klauer; his mother Eloise Brown of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Elliana, Kayden, Kendall, Maren, and Savanna; special companion of ten years Collene Klauer; his sisters Tammy Smith and Fawn Beeley; brothers Tony (Gwen) Smith and Trace Brown; his nieces and nephews Takeesha Smith, Jonathan Smith, Henry Barnes, Devin Brown, Anthony Melvin, Tyler Smith, Breyana McPherson, Mariah Higgins, Myles Smith, Daryon Brown, Dominique Griffith, Matea Higgins, Raiya Smith, Charles "Chuck" Hodges, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandmother Wineva Haas, nephew Drake Brown,
