Elmer E. Votroubek, 90, of Solon, died Monday, October 17, 2005 at home of a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2005 at Brosh Chapel, Solon with the Reverend Karen Nelson officiating.  Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens in Iowa City.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.
Survivors include his daughter Susan (Gary) Bates of Davenport; sons Don (Pam) of Coralville, Gary of Cedar Rapids, Jay of Iowa City and Ed (Jan) of Gilbert, AZ; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters Vlasta Stahle of Clearwater, Florida and Eleanor Cropp (George) of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Mabel Votroubek, his wife Virginia and brother Milt.
Elmer was born May 30, 1915 in rural Johnson County, the son of Harry and Mabel Mundill Votroubek.  He married Virginia Wilson September 24, 1938 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  He was employed as a welder in at Barber Greene in Aurora, Illinois.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
