Elizabeth Julia Haddy, 89, of Scottsdale , Arizona formerly of Albert Lea , Minnesota died June 15, 2005 in Scottsdale , Arizona . Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at St. George Orthodox Cemetery, Cedar Rapids with Rev. Elias Khouri, officiating. Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota on September 16, 1915 , the eldest child of Thomas and Frances Shaheen Haddy. She grew up in Walters, Minnesota and attended Business College in Mason City . She worked in her father's general merchandise stores both in Kiester and Walters, Minnesota . She was married to John Haddy on August 6, 1933 . During their 68 years of marriage, they owned and operated a general store in Walters, Minnestoa, Douds Market in Los Angeles , California , Haddy Egg Co. in Albert Lea , Minnesota , and Suncrest Poultry in Phoenix , Arizona . Those that knew her will remember her for her wonderful smile and her gentle spirit that touched everyone. She was truly and angel on earth and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sisters Beatrice Abraham of Scottsdale, Arizona, Vernita Haddy and Juanita (Richard) Landon of Las Vegas, Nevada, brothers Joseph (Dorie) Haddy of Riverside, California, and Francis (Terry) Haddy of Rochester Minnesota, sisters-in-law Celia Risk of Phoenix, Arizona, and Lucille Evans of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and brother-in-law Albert (Delores) Haddy of Phoenix, Arizona, and her many loving and devoted godchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Haddy, sister Lucille Haddy, sisters-in-law Freda Burger, Vivian Zachar, and Mary Shadid, and brother-in-law Sam (Fannie) Haddy.
