Eileen Margaret Ellen Steinbrech, 92 of Solon, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at her home after a lengthy illness.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.  Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church where there will be a 4 p.m. Forester's Rosary.  Visitation will also be an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.  Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements.
Eileen was born July 30, 1915 in Linn County, the daughter of James D. and Elizabeth (Costello) McNamara.  She married Albert G. Steinbrech on March 28, 1940.  Eileen was a member of St. Mary's Church and St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society.  She helped organize Solon congregate meals and SEATS Bus, was a 4-H Leader, Johnson County Extension Council, National Catholic Society of Foresters, and Cedar Boosters.
Eileen is survived by her two sons: James Steinbrech and his wife Carol and Daryl Steinbrech and his wife Virginia; two daughters: Louella Ulch and her husband Tony and Loretta Basten and her husband Aaron, all of Solon; thirteen grandchildren: Gary Steinbrech, Lori Hartman, Kevin Steinbrech, Michelle McAtee, Matt Steinbrech, Jayna Shalla, Sherri Schott, Kim Leone, Brian Ulch, Lisa Havlicek, Mark Basten, Tom Basten and Michael Basten; and twenty-five great-grandchildren: Ellea and Vincent Steinbrech; Emma, Christin and J.J. Hartman; Sean Steinbrech; Ben, Joe, and Rose McAtee; Weston and Julia Steinbrech; Avery and Ryland Shalla; Claire and Charlotte Leone; Evan, Owen and Ethan Ulch; Sylvia, Georgia and Ella Havlicek; Emily and Collin Basten; and Kyle and Reid Basten; and her sister Mary Soukup of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Albert G. Steinbrech on January 12, 2001.
Eileen will be especially remembered for her volunteer work and her love for her family and friends.
