Duane Dee, 60, from Puerto Vallarta Mexico, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died on October 17, 2025, after battling cancer with his husband at his side. There will be a Celebration of life Gathering December 13, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, Cedar Rapids.

Duane was born on July 20, 1965, the son of Gene and JoAnn Dee. Duane and Jim were married on May 1, 2009, and together for 39 years. They were partners in crime. Duane retired from Collins Credit Union in 2017. He loved the sunset and beaches in Mexico.

Duane is survived by his loving husband Jim; his parents Gene and JoAnn Dee; brothers Brad (Tiffany) Dee, and Chad Dee; his half bother Matthew (Alicia) Dee; his bestie Denise Jennings; and all his friends in PV.

Jim wanted to mention a special thanks to Ann Lane, Susie Hayden, Betsy Ann, and Brian Read for being there for him.

Duane was preceded in death by his sister Tammy Dee Vaverka.
