Douglas James Trachta, 75, of Center Point, died November 17, 2022, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.  Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, are caring for Douglas and his arrangements.

Doug was born November 15, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lester and Juanita (Blessing) Trachta.  He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served two tours in the Vietnam War.  Doug was united in marriage to Sally Ann Starkey.  Doug owned and operated Trachta Unlimited for many years until working as a security officer at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch for over twelve years.  He enjoyed fishing, making candy, hunting, target shooting, and going to car shows.  Doug had many friends, despite being an introvert.  He will be missed.

Doug is survived by his family, including special cousins Sharon McKnight, Allan Blessing, and Eldon Blessing, as well as many other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sally, his grandparents Howard and Doris Blessing, and Charles and Tilly Trachta.
