Douglas Alan Schilling, 57 of Phoenix, formerly of Cedar Rapids and Solon, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Dobson House in Chandler, Arizona. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with burial to follow in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 17th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. A Memorial visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, July 13 at East Resthaven Park Mortuary, located at 4310 East Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona, 85042, where there be a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life Service. Doug was born June 29, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Glenn Frederick and Delores Ann (Brown) Schilling. Doug graduated from Solon High School. He earned a Business Degree from the University of Iowa in 1977. Doug moved to Arizona and has been a Certified Public Accountant for many years. Doug is survived by his mother Delores (Gordon) Sanborn of Lenoir, Tennessee; brothers Gary (Kellie) Schilling of Cedar Rapids, Scott (Deb) Schilling of Cedar Rapids and Brad (Rose) Schilling all of Cedar Rapids; his stepmother Sharon Schilling of Phoenix, a stepsister Cheryl Davenport of Phoenix; and stepfather Ron (Ginny) Wasson of Rogersville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn and a brother Danny.
