Douglas Northrup, 72, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.   Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.

Douglas was born on December 11, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Richard and Jean Northrup.  He was a contractor his entire life and was a skilled craftsman.  His skills of working projects with his hands has become a common family trait.  He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, going to his favorite bistro for a meal, and spending time with friends and family.

Douglas is survived by his daughter Xavier Day; two grandchildren Kyree and Dominque; his siblings Kathy, Pat, Denny, Penny and Kim; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his dog Muddy.

He preceded in death by his parents.
