Dorothy Jean Kadlec, 88, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Winslow House Care Center, Marion, due to complications from dementia. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2009 at Sharon United Methodist Church, 1809 9

Street SW, Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.
Dorothy was born July 21, 1920 in Marion, the daughter of Verne and Alice (Law) Pratt. She married Joseph Kadlec on March 24, 1946 in Coggon.
Dorothy is survived by her sons: Jim (Terry) Kadlec of Marion, Larry (Paula) Kadlec of Omaha, Richard (Janet) Kadlec of Cedar Rapids, and Jerald Kadlec of Marion; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her brother Robert (Lucile) Pratt of Coggon.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe on May 2, 2000, and a great granddaughter.
