Dorothy E. (Haman) Hosch, 80, of Swisher, died on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy of metastatic renal kidney cancer.  Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Dorothy Ellen was born March 31, 1943, in Iowa City, the daughter Vincent and Dorothy (Rohret) Haman.  She graduated from Cosgrove High School in 1961.  Over the years she was employed by Collins Radio and Square D in Cedar Rapids, and later retired from the Gazette in 2008.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Gary; her daughters Theresa (Jeff) Blair, Kristina (Brad) Ferguson and Maria (Jae) Brandon; grandchildren Emily (Tony) Marcovich, Clint (Cydney) Ferguson, Joshua (Shayne) Ferguson, Levi Ferguson and Lindsey (Josh) Birch; great-grandchildren Charlotte, Clara, Callie and Caelynn Ferguson, and Amelia and Dominic Marcovich; her siblings Mary (Chuck) Porto, Ray (Ellen) Haman, Vince (Sue) Haman and Linda Rohret; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
