Doris S Looney, 85, of Solon, went to meet her Savior Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17 ^th at the Solon United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church.  Doris requested her body to be donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy.  Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of her arrangements.

Doris S was born March 5, 1922 on a farm near Ely, the daughter of Deyo M. and Dorothea H. Looney.  She moved to rural Solon with her parents and three brothers in 1927.  She received her education in Cedar Township and graduated from Solon High School in 1940 with her twin brother, Donald S.  She was a member of the Solon United Methodist Church, Our Lord's Church, and a member of the Solon American Legion Auxiliary since 1945.

Doris is survived by her sister-in-law Maxine Looney, three nieces, three nephews, eight great nieces and nephews and two great, great nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Donald, Floyd who was killed on Okinawa in 1945, and Harold who was killed in Korea in 1951.
