Doris Irma Hangartner, 92 of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2008 at Hope Lutheran Church. Visitation will be an hour prior to services at the Church. Burial will follow in Postville Cemetery.
Doris was born December 29, 1915 in Elgin, the daughter of Harry and Della (Mathys) Miller. She married Oscar Hangartner on December 18, 1940 in Elgin.
Doris is survived by her daughters Verlene Hangartner and Elaine (Clair) Osborne of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Conley, Beverly (Jim) Gieseman, James (Ceci) Osborne, Brenda (Joshua) Hammitt; 8 greatgrandchildren; and sisters Violet Hangartner and Margaret Gage.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar; her parents Harry and Della Miller; and her siblings: Gertrude, Clifton, Gladys, Clarence, Shirley, June, and La Vonne.
