Doris Ann Beard, 65 of Swisher, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Honey Creek Cottage in Swisher.  Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel.

Doris was born October 3, 1943 in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Franklin and Virginia (Kent) Teslik.  She graduated from Jefferson High School.  Doris married Eugene Beard on October 28, 1988 in Swisher.  She worked for Square D for over 40 years until her retirement.  She enjoyed walking and caring for her dogs and cats, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her husband Eugene; son, Robert (Deanna) Nost; daughter, Melissa Bruce; grandchildren, Natalie and Nicole, Joshua, Derrick, and Skyler; great grandchildren, Bethany and William; sister, Betty (John) Powers; and brother, Frank (Trudie) Teslik.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.
