Donna Jean (Crossett) Fisher, 92, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on April 13, 2026. Friends may join her family for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday June 30, 2026, in the Czech National Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. A reception will follow at Brosh Chapel in the Avacentre at 2121 Bowling Street S.W.
Donna was born in Cedar Rapids on January 11,1934 to Keith and Lois (Russell) Crossett. She spent her childhood in Los Angeles and San Jose, California, and returned to Cedar Rapids to attend Roosevelt High School (Class of ’52).
In 1953, she married Richard (Dick) Fisher at Trinity Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids when he was in the Marine Corps. They were married for 69 years until he passed. They raised their children on the Southwest Side, then moved to Lake Macbride. They enjoyed “Lake Life” for 30+ years before returning to Cedar Rapids.
Donna worked for a variety of Cedar Rapids-Solon-Iowa City businesses, primarily as an office manager or bookkeeper. She was an active member of Trinity Methodist Church and a variety of social clubs; a longtime volunteer at the Solon Public Library and other charities; an Iowa Women’s Basketball season-ticket holder and baseball Booster. She loved books, sewing, embroidery, crafting, cooking, baking, cards, and sports. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and often traveled to California.
Donna is survived by her children Paula (Dexter) David and Russell Albert Fisher; grandchildren Steven (Alisha) David and Travis David; great-grandchildren Elijah and Abigail David, brothers- and sisters-in-law Gary (Leah) Fisher and Steven (Linda) Fisher, Cousin Gene (Linda) Crossett, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfather; brother; aunts, and many other members of the Fisher, Crossett, and Russell families.
Instead of flowers, please send memorial gifts to Trinity-St. James United Methodist Church, or Camp Courageous.
