Donald G. Klouda, 71 of 1101 Hwy 1 NE, died Monday, November 27 at his home from a sudden illness.  Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. David Wilkening presiding.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.  Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Donald was born April 27, 1935 in Solon, the son of Matthew and Tillie (Sonka) Klouda.  Don graduated from the Stone Academy and from Solon High School.  He served in the National Guard.  Don farmed his entire life in the Solon area.  He married Darlene Kessler on July 7, 1959 at St. Bridget's Church, Nolan Settlement.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Farm Bureau.  Don enjoyed parades, old cars, and his 1936 John Deere A tractor.  He was a proud participant in many Tractorcades.  He liked playing cards where he was a member of a local card club for over 35 years.  He enjoyed playing the drums, dancing and singing.  Don lived for his family, farming, his cattle, and especially his grandkids.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his wife Darlene; a son DeWayne (Marianne) Klouda; a daughter Diane (Robin) Siddell all of Solon; four grandchildren: Holly Klouda, Andrew Klouda, Rory Siddell, and Carissa Siddell, as well as several nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; brother Vernon Klouda; and a sister Marie Klouda Hotz.
Memorials may be directed to Sts. Peter and Paul Historical Society, St. Mary's Catholic Church, or the American Diabetes Association.
