Donald H. Kessler, 90 of Solon died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at the Solon Care Nursing Center.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Solon with Father David Wilkening officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Solon.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Solon and for an hour prior to services Friday at the chapel.

Donald was born February 13, 1916 in Big Grove Township, rural Johnson County the son of Henry and Anna Harpat Kessler.  He married Sylvia Dostal September 5, 1945 in Cedar Rapids.  Don had been a farmer all of his life (75 years).  He was a Dairy farmer, crop farmer and raised Angus Cows.  Don's interests in life have always been about farming.  One of his biggest interests was looking forward to the new Angus cows in the spring.

Donald is survived by his children: Lloyd (Colleen) Kessler, Donna Mae Kessler, and Glee Kessler all of Solon; grandchildren: Scott, Sonja Mae, Keri, Aaron, and Colby; greatgrandchilren: Nicholas, Dakota, Britani Mae, and Tyler; and sister Helen Sovers of Solon.  He was preceded into death by his wife Sylvia, a grandson Nicholas Kistler, an infant sister, and a brother-in-law Martin Sovers.
