Donald B. Kellerman, 70 of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at his home after a short illness. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where military rites be conducted Hanford American Legion Post 5 following services. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church and for an hour prior to services. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Donald was born in Kensal, North Dakota the son of Rev. Alvin T. and Edna Spitzer Kellerman. Don proudly served his country from 1959 to 1962 in the US Army. He married Jeanette Skaff on August 20, 1967 in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Hamilton Business College with an accounting degree. He worked for FMC for twenty four years and also Penford Products for eleven years until his retirement. Don loved to golf, play pinochle and fishing. He enjoyed the time with his family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Jeanette; his mother Edna Kellerman of Cedar Rapids; sons Michael (Tami) Kellerman of Rockford, Illinois and Dr. Mark (Joy) Kellerman of West Des Moines; daughter Janara (John) Lavin of Queens, New York; grandchildren: Jacob, Noah, Layla, Madison, Maya; and his sisters Jeanne (Dr. Harold) Braeutigam and Judy Naegele both of Frankenmuth, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his father Rev. A.T. Kellerman.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, and/or Cedar Rapids Hospice of Mercy.
