Donald "Donnie" Robert Davis, 61 of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 in his home. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 30 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located 2121 Bowling Street SW with Rev. Dr. W. Bramwell Harnish presiding. Inurnment will be held in Czech National Cemetery. Donnie was born November 1, 1950 in Independence, the son of Don and Betty Lou (Bandy) Davis. He married Tami Rompot on September 16, 1989 in SOKOL Hall. Don was a trucking dispatcher for years. He also worked at the Chrome Horse and Saloon. He enjoyed music, sports, especially the Cubs, Hawkeyes, Yankees, Raiders and the Bears, Rolling Rock, his cats, as well as friends and his family. Donnie is survived by his wife Tami; his dad Don and wife Helen of Iowa City; a sister Louann Kielty of Waterloo; a brother Jamie Puhl of Waterloo; stepdad Jim Puhl of Waterloo; his mother and father in law Sandy and Don Rompot and his beloved cats Dexter, Wrigley, and Charlie Watts. He was preceded in death by mother Betty Lou, his grandparents Effie and Marvin Bandy. Memorials may be directed to the family.
