Donald Joseph Skalsky Jr., 64, of Norway, died Thursday, May 20, 2021.  Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with burial to follow in Linwood Cemetery, near Norway. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Brosh Chapel.

Don was born December 5, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald and Lillian Skalsky. He graduated from Norway High School.  Don was united in marriage to Barb Vredenburg on March 22, 1974, at the Nazarene Church in Marengo.  He worked for over forty-four years at Whirlpool in Amana, retiring in 2018.  Don has farmed in the Norway area nearly all his life.  He enjoyed farming, deer hunting with his grandson, and most all being around his children and grandchildren.

Don is survived by his wife Barb; his children Don (JoLynn) Skalsky III of Walford and Connie (Tim) Holub of Coggon; four grandchildren JoAnn, Don IV, Michael and Ashley; his siblings Trish (Lon) Banes, Linda (Werner) Kuballa and John Skalsky; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law Teri Skalsky.
