Don Keith Bohr, 71 of Lisbon, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 23rd at the Lisbon United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, located at 100 South Cedar Street. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery. Don was born February 9, 1940 in Iowa City, the son of Harold William and Hilda M. (Stritt) Bohr. He married Rita Ann Mitchell on November 12, 1960 in Lisbon. Don was a very hard working and dedicated man, who farmed in the Lisbon and Mechanicsville area from 1958 until 1982. He later worked as a security guard at the University of Iowa until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed talking and visiting with family and friends, helping others, gardening, fishing, hunting, following sports, especially the Hawkeyes and Bears. Don is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Jeff (Tammy) Bohr, Brian Bohr, and Melissa (Joe) Nelson all of Lisbon; five grandchildren Jenny (Chris) Caspers, Jessie (Brian) Farrell, Jacob Bohr, Jordan Bohr, and Elizabeth Bohr; two great-grandchildren Kaden and Lynnlee Caspers; and his grandpuppy Hawkeye. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Dean Bohr. Memorials may be directed to the Church, Hospice of Mercy or to the family.
