Don Barkhoff, 65, died Saturday, February 6 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City . Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids , located at 2121 Bowling Street SW , with Rev. Renee Lunemann presiding. Private family inurnment will be held in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids . Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Thursday at the chapel.

Don was born December 1, 1944 in Cedar Falls the son of Benny and Dorothy Straight Barkhoff. He served in the U.S. Navy for over four years and was involved in electrical maintenance on radar. Don installed carpet and flooring for Randy's Interiors in Coralville for many years. Don enjoyed classic cars including going to car shows.

Don is survived by his wife Linda of Solon; a brother Steve (Keevin) Barkhoff of Delhi; children Dan (Darla) Barkhoff of Grundy Center, Sandy (Mike) Schebler of Solon, Britt (Kevin) Tompkins of Solon, Nicki Munger of Charlotte, North Carolina, Chad (Kristie) Munger of Houston, Texas, Kyle (Kassi) Bantz of Cedar Rapids as well as ten grandchildren and a great grandson.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carole Petra.
