Diane Marie Bys, 58, of Shueyville passed away surrounded by her family on October 1, 2013, from angiosarcoma. Visitation will be at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 3:30-6:00 p.m. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday October 5 at Brosh Chapel. Diane was the first born child to Richard and Mildred (Pospisil) Kuda, born March 27, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. Diane married James Bys on August 28, 1970 in Cedar Rapids. They made their home in Shueyville with their daughter Terri and son Matthew. Diane was active member of the Swisher American Legion Auxiliary and W.I.L.O.S. She was the Shueyville City Clerk, Jefferson Township Clerk and Shueyville Cemetery Treasurer, as well as working at Prochaska Nursery. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Richard Kuda, and maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her husband Jim, parents Millie and Don Miller of Swisher, her daughter Terri (Richard Braden) of Cedar Rapids, her son Matthew (David Kertes) of Santa Clara, California, loving Babi to Dillon and Grace Braden and Sebastian Kertes-Bys, her sisters Lynn (Steve Mallicoat) of Solon, Nancy Brown of Atkins, Debie (Stuart Towe) of Norway and Kristi (Shawn Nove) of Fairfax as well as her many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
