Dennis E. Purcell, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in his home. As per Dennis' wishes private family services will be held.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.

Dennis was born on February 6, 1941, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Edward and Louise Purcell. He worked at Quaker Oats for many years, retiring as a supervisor in 1997.  Dennis enjoyed working on classic cars, attending car shows, wintering in Donna, Texas for over 28 years, tending to his cats, mowing his yard and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a longtime member of the Corvette Club of Iowa.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife Ramona; his children Charles (Helen) Purcell, Jeff (Linda) Purcell, Mike (Dalean) Purcell and Chris Strausbaugh; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; his siblings Bruce (Rhonda) Purcell and Barb Gibbs and Lavonne Parsons; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Robert Purcell, Ronald Purcell and MaryAnn Anderson
