Delores "Dee" J. Olson, 81 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Northbrook Manor. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Brosh Chapel.  Celebration of life services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.

Delores Jean was born November 5, 1935 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leo and Laura (Zabokrtsky) Rohlena.  She graduated from Wilson High School.  Dee was united in marriage to Don Olson on July 6, 1958 at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.  Dee and Don operated day care in their home for many families.  Dee and Don were proud to serve as foster parents from 1967 until 2004.  In this time they cared for well over 200 children.  She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her chickens, ducks and cats, and spending Saturdays with her friends.

Dee is survived by her brother Marvin (Bonnie) Rohlena of Keystone; sisters-in-law Shirley Neuhaus, Cindy Olson, and Marilyn Olson all of Cedar Rapids; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, who died December 31, 2005, and her brothers-in-law Richard Olson, Robert Olson and Raymond Olson.
