Delores A. Becicka, 76 of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26 at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private family inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery. Delores was born August 12, 1937 in Des Moines, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Doris (Slaymaker) Robertson. She married Frank Becicka, her high school sweetheart, on August 18, 1956. They were married 56 years. Delores was employed at IPC of Iowa and along with her husband Buzz owned and operated motels in Kingman, Arizona, El Campo, Texas and also in Marion. She retired in 2012. Delores enjoyed Elvis music, going to the casino and the time spent with her family. Delores is survived by her children Frank G. (Kim) Becicka of Ely, Mark A. (Leslie) Becicka and Sherri K. (Ron) Bettmeng both of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; step-father Charles Shira of Las Vegas, Nevada; siblings Jack (Betty) Robertson, Joan (Dick) Johnson, and Shirley Hilleshiem all of Cedar Rapids, and Penny (Dick) Lerch of Las Vegas, Nevada. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Buzz who died December 22, 2012, her brother Tony Shira, and sisters-in-law Mary (Lester) Kelsey and Maxine (Don) Merta.
