Deanna "Susie" Barvinek, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the Northbrook Health Care Center. Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Czech National Cemetery. Followed by a Celebration of Life gathering from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.
Deanna Sue was born September 27, 1941, in Eldora, Iowa, the daughter of Wilford and Lucille Brady-Babcock and raised by her father and step-mother Ruth Brady.
Susie is survived by her best friend and husband of sixty-three years, William "Bill"; two sons, Todd of Cedar Rapids and Brad (Beth) of Roxbury, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Cara (Ryan) Core of Alburnett, Iowa; Baylor of Chicago, Illinois; Andrew of McKinney, Texas; Colton Schmidt of Lakewood, Colorado; and Olivia (Dylan) Michael of Grimes, Iowa; and four great-grandchildren, Avery, Kinlee, Theodore and Zoey; Sister -in-law Barbara Jensen of Cedar Rapids; and siblings Bruce Babcock, Doug Babcock, Cindy Babcock, and Randy Babcock, all from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.
She was preceded in death by her parents Wilford Brady, Ruth Brady and Lucille Babcock, brother-in-law John Jensen and sister-in law Barb Babcock.
Susie enjoyed a successful career as a paralegal at the law firm of Dumbaugh, Gutz, Booth & Gross later retiring from Moyer & Bergman. Outside of work, Susie was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and genuine friend who touched so many lives along the way and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She loved to camp, bake, and cherished spending time with family.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
