David Henry Whiteside, 76, of Cedar Rapids, the husband of Mary Hardin Whiteside, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Willow Gardens Care Center.  As per David's wishes, private family services will be held.

David was born May 26, 1944, in Humboldt, Tennessee, the son of Willie and Betty (Mayo) Whiteside.

David is survived by his wife Mary; children Phillip (Sadie), David, Paula, and Dairio Whiteside, Edith Hardin and Lutonia (Larry) Pruitt; his twenty-five grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his siblings Mary Pledge, Mildred Pledge, Joe Whiteside, Benny Whiteside, Charlie Whiteside; and his host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Florence, Ilene, Albert and Eugene Whiteside
