David Bryan Tilley, 62, a long-time resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his new residence in Deming, New Mexico on January 28th, 2026.

David was born September 28th, 1963 to Mary Lou Fern Fisher and William Edward Tilley in Honolulu, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu.

David graduated from West Delaware Community Schools in May of 1981. After graduating, he went on to get an Associate of Applied Science degree from Lincoln Technical Institute specializing in Mechanical Studies.

David married his highschool sweetheart, Angela Supple, on December 5th, 1986, in Manchester, Iowa. The couple were blessed with 3 children through this union.

David spent the majority of his working years as an Automotive Mechanic working at places such as Ken's Tire & Auto, Allen Motor Company, Sears Automotive and J Street Auto. He also worked for Archer Daniels Midland for 15 years and was a member of the Teamster's Local Union #238. He also spent some time working as a Millwright and was a part of the Millwright Local Union #2158. Dave was a man of many trades and impeccable work ethic.

David was especially proud of his highschool football achievements, he was a Senior Letterman, playing the position of Linebacker-Guard for the West Delaware Hawks. They finished with a winning season 5-4, a first in 8 years, with 4 straight conference wins for the first time in the School's history. (1980)

David enjoyed collecting stamps as a child and tools as he got older. He loved spending time outdoors camping, kayaking, hunting, going on road trips and vacationing with his family and friends. During his free time he enjoyed growing his own food, canning & pickling and remodeling his house.

Dave most enjoyed himself when he was surrounded by good people, chill vibes, and cold drinks.

David is survived by his children, Kelsey Tilley, Brent Tilley, & Katherine Tilley ; Ex-wife, Angela Tilley ; Grandchildren, Nathan, Malaysia, Andrew, Julian, & Kahliyah (Kelsey) ; Siblings, Charlotte McClelland, Gale Koch, Gwen Garcia, Sonja Tilley, & John Tilley ; and his favorite dog, Rosie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Tilley & Mary Lou Fern Fisher and his brother Mark Tilley.

David Tilley's Celebration of Life will be held at Brosh Chapel and the Avacentre located at 2121 Bowling Street Southwest Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 on Saturday, March 21st, 2026 from 2-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
