On Monday, March 26, 2019, David LeRoy Phelps, Jr., passed away after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 49 years.

David was born in Cedar Rapids on May 26, 1969 and a 1988 graduate of Jefferson High School.  He enjoyed sports, especially following the Green Bay Packers and watching wrestling.  David worked at U.S. Cellular Center and was very reliable as part of their operations staff.  He loved helping out where he could and did a great providing for his mother.

David will be missed, but remembered forever by his mother, Noreen Phelps; sisters Kathy (John) Benefield and Karen (Jonathan) Foster; brother Wilbur (Michele); nephews John, David, and Ian; nieces Hannah, Naomi, and Ami.  He will also be forever remembered by several uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends.

David is preceded in death by his Father, David Phelps, Sr., both sets of grandparents, one uncle, four aunts and two cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m., at the Doubletree Hotel that is connected with the US Cellular Center for family and close friends.  Thank you all who made his last few days more comfortable especially Heritage Specialty Care.
