David Lee Blake, 50 of Cedar Rapids , passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his home in Cedar Rapids . A memorial gathering will be held Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m. in Ellis Park. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is handling arrangements.

David was born February 24, 1960 in Vinton , IA , grew up in Cedar Rapids and enjoyed the outdoors, playing baseball, throwing Frisbee, fishing, and hunting. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed collecting various things. David was well known for his diligent work ethic in the construction industry and was very social and generous.

Survivors include his mother, Eunice Mathews; father, Paul Blake; sister, Cynthia Blake; brothers, Christopher Blake and Robert (Andi) Blake; daughter, Jenifer (John) Gibson; son, William (Angela) Blake; grandchildren, Jessie, Jazmine, Jayley, Jonathon, William Jr., and Melody.

David was preceded in death by his sister, Paula Blake and stepfather, Bob Mathews.
