On November 17, David Aossey passed away peacefully with family members by his side following a long illness. He was born on September 4, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and had celebrated his 90 th Birthday. After returning from his service in the Korean War, David started working for Hometown Dairy. He married Eileen Nassed and together they raised four children, Sam (Tammy) Nancy (Bill) Linda and Mona.  Also surviving are his siblings, Lucille, Jim, Jumelie, Anace, Zakea, Sophie and Kamel; three grandchildren, Christine, Tiffany (Steve) and Sammy (Paige) and four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Hacebe and Abdoo, and two sisters, Souad and Mary.

Golf played an important role throughout David's life and he developed many lifelong relationships. David became a very accomplished golfer as he picked up learning the game as a young boy as a Caddy at the Cedar Rapids Country Club, and then earned the position of the Caddy Master. With continued passion for the love of the game, he became an avid player. David graduated from Franklin High School and led his golf team to two state championships. David won the City Amateur tournament 3 times and became the only 3-time winner until his record was broken by his son, Sam, who had been tied with his father until his fourth win in 2004.  David maintained friendships from his early childhood and throughout the years of his life. He took much pride in his community of Cedar Rapids.  During his illness, he received loving care by his devoted wife Eileen, in the comfort of their home.
