Dave Lumir Trunecek, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in his home.  Celebration of life services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Brosh Chapel.

Dave was born September 30, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lumir and Lillian (Serbousek) Trunecek. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School class of 1964.  Dave was a full-time teacher for many years in Phoenix, Arizona as well as a substitute teacher in Cedar Rapids.  Dave was a dedicated care giver to both of parents upon returning back home.  The past four years he has worked at Menards in the hardware department.  He enjoyed watching the Hawkeyes, going to the casino, and spending time with his family.

Dave is survived his aunt Mary Serbousek of Center Point, as well as his many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lumir and Lillian.
