Daniel James Zimmerman, 52, of Solon died early Saturday morning, December 9, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Solon with Rev. Scott Meador presiding.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, and for an hour prior to services Wednesday.

Dan was born January 18, 1954 in Galion, Ohio, the son of James and Miriam (Wise) Zimmerman.  He married Linda Newman on July 3, 1976 in Martel, Ohio.

Dan is survived by his wife Linda Zimmerman; daughters Michelle (Jim) Bovinet of Marion, IA, and Kristin Zimmerman of Harpers Ferry, WV; son Troy Zimmerman of Solon, IA; parents James and Miriam Zimmerman of Upper Sandusky, OH; sisters Deloris (Ken) Kocher of Bloomville, OH; Donna (John) Patterson of Mequon, WI; Diana (Bill) Hurlow of Galion, OH; and Debra (Mike Poland) Zimmerman of Hinesville, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund to support Solon Boy Scout Troop 120 and Iowa City Hospice.
