Damon Matthew Meyer, 43, formerly of Ely and Cedar Rapids, died suddenly on November 11, 2017 in Quincy, Massachusetts.  A Celebration of Life gathering for Damon will be from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at The Avacentre at Brosh Chapel, where the family will greet from 1 -3 p.m.  A special time of reflection and sharing will start at 3 p.m.  A private family inurnment will be in Hala Cemetery, near Walford.

Damon was born April 29, 1974 in Jefferson, the son of Steve and Michele (Gross) Meyer. He attended Prairie High School and later graduated from Solon High School, class of 1992.

Damon is the proud father of Laurdyn and Braylon.  He is also survived by his family, which includes his sister Kara (Marc) Leonard of Amana; his niece Avery and nephew Beau; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Damon was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents.
