Daisy P. Hynek, 94, of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday morning, July 12, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center , Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Brosh Chapel , Cedar Rapids with Rev Bob David, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Czech National Cemetery . Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of services Saturday at the chapel.

Daisy was born on April 8, 1911 the daughter of Carl and Zula Phelps formerly of West Liberty . Daisy graduated from Central City School and later taught at the school. She also worked at Legion Town Club as head of kitchen operations. She met Joe Hynek there and later married March 21, 1952 in Cedar Rapids .

Survivors include a son David Kamberling of Cedar Rapids, three grandchildren Robin, Holly Jo, and Amber Leigh Ross all of Cedar Rapids; three great-grandchildren Preston of Shellsburg, and Dylon and Rosa of Cedar Rapids; a brother James Phelps of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law Edwin Hynek of Swisher; and brother-in-law Verny Feuss of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Her husband Joe, four sisters Leota, Gwen, Tessie, and Bertha; one sister-in-law Lanelle Hynek, and two brothers Carl Jr and Van all preceded her in death.

She will always be loved and missed very deeply.

Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
