Dale Christine Johnson Sixta, 59 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and formally of Grinnell, Iowa went to be with her Lord at 10:50 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2006. She was cremated and will be buried at Czech National Cemetery Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of life service following at 11:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God. Chris was born May 8, 1947 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1965 and the University of Iowa in 1969 with degrees in Elementary Education and Psychology. She worked at the YWCA for eight years and volunteered at Birthright for three years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God.
She was survived by her husband James E. Sixta of Cedar Rapids; her sister Lynn Ann Johnson Dragoo of Menominee, Michigan; two children, James E. Sixta II (Debra) of Altoona, Iowa, and Sara Christine Sixta Hunter (Adam) of Cedar Rapids; two greatgrandchildren Samantha Chrsitina Sixta of Altoona, and "baby" Hunter of Cedar Rapids; her niece Brianna Kay Dragoo of Menominee, Michigan and her mother, Helen Maxine Johnson Walden. Christine was preceded in death by her father Dale Evert Johnson of Grinnell, Iowa.
