Clifford
Jones
July 16, 2021
Homegoing services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2021 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will be in Czech National Cemetery.
Clifford Deon Jones was born on October 24, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the fourth oldest child born to Helen and George Jones. "Deon" was a shy, sweetheart in his youth that all his aunts and cousins jokingly dubbed as the "Jones boy" they did not mind babysitting! He was everybody's baby.
Deon attended Harper High School in Chicago, Illinois. He accepted Christ at an early age. Though he did not finish high school he remained a student of life. Learning and growing into the charming, cool, calm and collected man that everyone loved. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a sweet, infectious smile. Clifford, as he was known at work, was a thoughtful, dedicated and hard worker. He was a loyal employee of the Iowa Beverage Company for three years.
Deon enjoyed breeding his dogs, playing pool, and the game of chess; but his favorite and most important pastime was spending time with his family, especially his sons, Demar and Antwaun.
Sadly, Deon was preceded in death by both of his beloved parents, Helen and George Jones, and his nephews, Delmar Harrell Jr. and Tyrell Mitchell. Deon returned home to the Father who loved him best on July 16, 2021.
He leaves to cherish his life, two sons: Demar Jones (Mother-Ronique Wilkerson) and Antwaun Jones; siblings: Angelica Jones, George Jones III, Jeral (Vanessa) Williams, Shanell Nash, Shenise Nash, Andre (Karla) Jones, Stephonna Jones, Terrance Roberts, Quentin Jones, Timothy Anderson, Michelle Anderson and Brandon Jones; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
