Cleone M. Merrifield, 88 of Cedar Rapids, died Friday June 8, 2007 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center.  Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, with burial following in Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the chapel.

Cleone was born January 28, 1919 in Iowa City, the daughter of Earl and Ada Klein Amrine.  She married Kenneth Merrifield in 1946.  Cleone attended the University of Iowa, and graduated from Hamilton Business College.  She worked as a bookkeeper and later a mother and housewife.

Cleone is survived by her son Daniel Merrifield of Fairfax; cousin Harold (Margie) Youkey of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Troy (Connie) Merrifield of Cedar Rapids, Adrianne Merrifield of Wyoming, Alicia Merrifield of Cedar Rapids, and Travis Merrifield of Cedar Rapids; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Sandy Merrifield of Pennsylvania and Marie Merrifield of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Merrifield, and her brother Harold.
