Clark Woods Jr., 67 of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital. Homegoing services will be 5 p.m. Sunday, September 2nd at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, located at 6621 C Avenue NE. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. Clark was born March 19, 1945 in Cruger, Mississippi, the son of Clark and Ethel (Hoskins) Woods Sr. Clark worked for the Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific for many years until his retirement. He married Thaddy Lindsey on April 7, 1970 in Greenwood, Mississippi and they later renewed their vows in Iowa City in 1982. Clark is survived by his wife Thaddy; children Jessie (Mike) Taylor of Cedar Rapids, George (Betty) Ratliff, Judy (Obie) Dixon, Tony (Harriet) Watkins, Cora (Terry) Bryant, Rosie Wallace, Nathaniel Watkins, Terry Woods of all of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters Ira Charlene Bell of Rohnert Park, California, Yvonne (Robert) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Shirley Coleman of Joliet, Illinois as well as host of nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Henry Lee Woods, a sister Coretha Hudson, and a son Lenell Woods. Memorials may be directed to the family.
