Claire Posusta, 80 of Cedar Rapids, left this world surrounded by family peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., November 4th, 2013 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. November 3rd, 2013, where there will be a 2 p.m. rosary. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Czech National Cemetery. Claire was born January 22, 1933 in Grundy Center, the daughter of Elmer and Marguerite Ford. She married Virgil Posusta on February 5, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. Claire was employed at AT&T for 33 years. She was a charter member of St. Pius Catholic Church where she volunteered for many years. Claire also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She loved family holidays and vacations, her pets, crafting, knitting and enjoyed her weekly coffee group. Claire was a loving and kind individual who enjoyed life to its fullest. Claire is survived by her husband, Virgil; her son, Kelly Posusta of Douds; daughter, Deb (Joe) Holtzman of Cedar Rapids, their children, Carrie (Thomas Hernandez), John Holtzman and Jason Gilbert; her identical twin, Carol Schnoebelen of Prescott, Arizona and a brother Kevin Ford of Troy Mills and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Craig Ford. The family would also like to thank the staff of St. Luke's Hospice for their kind and loving care for Claire and family in her time of need. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Humane Society in her name.
