He is survived by his loving wife, Julia (Hartl) of sixty-one years: children, Larry (Barb) Cedar Rapids, John (Amy) Center Point, Dennis (Rachael) Swisher, Barbara (Jim) Lastovka, Amana, Tammy (Rusty) Richardson, Swisher; nine grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild; two brothers, Ben (Carol) Bagley, Minnesota, Milo (Betty), Tucson, Arizona, and sister Mary Johnson, Bagley, Minnesota.

Charles and Julia began raising their family near Ely and built their later life near Swisher where they farmed until retirement.  Annual family fishing trips to northern MN leave fond memories.  He retired from Wilson Foods/Farmstead after 41 years of dedicated service.
