Charles "Chuck" Michael Gerace, 54, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 peacefully at his home.

Chuck was born May 6, 1963 in Buffalo, New York, the son of Carl and Carol (Scinta) Gerace.  He proudly served in the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout for 5 years and was honorably discharged in 1987.  Chuck was united in marriage to Tamarra  Phelps on July 25, 1985 in Buffalo, New York. They were divorced in 2005.  Chuck was then married to Julie Dougherty in 2013. They were later divorced.  Chuck worked as a pipefitter for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 4 years.  He enjoyed riding his Harley, gardening, watching hockey and football, as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Charles is survived by his son, Charles (Samantha) Gerace Jr. and their children Braxton and Gunner of Conroy; his daughters Angela Burian and her daughter Autumn of Cedar Rapids and April (Brian) Tusing of Cedar Rapids; his mother Carol Gerace of Buffalo, New York; his brother Kevin (Cathy) Gerace of Buffalo, New York; as well as his nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A celebration of life will be at Chrome Horse located at 1203 3rd St. SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52401 on February 25th from 2pm to 5pm.
