Bud Slife, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at ProMedica.  Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Bud was born September 1, 1947, in Independence, the son of Ray and Bernice (Smith) Slife Sr.   He graduated from Independence High School.  Bud served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was united in marriage to Josephine Reedy on July 11, 1970.

Bud is survived by his daughters Pam Schafhausen of Rochester, Minnesota and Michelle "Micki" (Mike) Folkers of Walker; five grandchildren Rebecca, Alexis, Carter, Brydon and Moya; one great-grandson Kjaerli; his sister Mary Fowlkes of Lancaster, Wyoming; as well as many close nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dewayne Slife.
