Brett Allen Johnston, 40, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, August 6, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Brett was born September 2, 1971 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Robert and Rosemary (Reilly) Johnston. Brett served in the United States Navy for two years. He was married to Stephanie Rodgers Johnston for many years until they later divorced. Most recently he was employed at the Butterfly Café. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his friends and family. Brett is survived by his mother Rosemary of Cedar Rapids; father Robert (Cheryl) Johnston of Olin; daughter Sophia Johnston of Cedar Rapids; a sister Kelly (Nick) O'Neill of Porthcawl, Wales, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents, and other family members. Memorials may be directed to the family.
