Betty A. Zitek, 89, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Unity Point Hospice-Taylor House in East Des Moines.  Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday April 13, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Cemetery.

Betty was born December 13, 1932, in Shueyville, the daughter of Joseph J. and Emma Mildred (Potter) Novotny.  She was united in marriage to Marvin D. Zitek on May 26, 1956, in Marion.  Betty worked at Norand, NCI, owned Zitek Electric with her husband Marvin, and worked as event staff at the US Cellular Center. Betty enjoyed gardening and her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her son Russell (Feby) of Casey; daughter in law (Linda) of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren Erin (Andy) Pinter and Kari (Dan) Ness of Cedar Rapids; four great grandchildren; brother Donald (Delores) Novotny of Marion; nephew Terry (Ann) Novotny; niece Karen Bonser; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, son Rodney, great granddaughter Makaela Ness and brothers Eugene, Harold and Kenneth.
