Betty Arlene Neiderhiser, 91 of Clarence, died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Clarence Senior Living.  Celebration of life gathering will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.  Burial will be in Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely.

Betty was born December 20, 1925 in rural Jackson County, the daughter of Davis and Hazel (Watters) Saunders.  She graduated from Maqouketa High School.  She was married to Arland Rowan, Melvin Twigg, and Robert Neiderhiser.  She worked for Blunck Adamson Insurance Agency in Grand Mound for 17 years.  Betty loved to dance and enjoyed her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her son Joseph Rowan of Iowa City; her daughter Karen (LeeRoy) Proesch of Wheatland; four grandchildren Heath Proesch, Heather (Eric) Gross, LeeAnn (Dan) Chase and Laurie (Bill) Edwards; five great-grandchildren Heath Jr., Paten, Dakota, Logan and Gillian; a great-great-granddaughter; and her sister Carol Benson of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a grandson Rex Rowan, two brothers Earl (Eva) Saunders and Merlin "Toby" Saunders.
