Betty Arlene Brickner, 82 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital.  Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.  Visitation will be an hour prior to services Monday at Brosh Chapel.  Inurnment will follow in Czech National Cemetery.

Betty was born November 6, 1925 in Mitchell, South Dakota, the daughter of Anders and Katherine Steensgaard.  She married Vernon Brickner on August 24, 1944 in Solon.  Betty enjoyed gardening, flea markets, playing cards and African violets.

Betty is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Jerry) Wolf, and Mike (Maxine) Brickner all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Teresa (Robin) Stillwill, John (Tammy) Sybil, Robert Sybil; and her sister Dagmar Kaufman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon on February 7, 1981, and her sisters Violet Seeman and Pat Steensgaard; a brother Dick Steensgaard.
