Betty Ann Andersen, 56, of Solon, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family after a strong and courageous fight with cancer. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Solon with Pastor Tom Carver presiding. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel in Solon and for an hour prior to services Saturday at the chapel.
Betty was born March 17, 1950 in Spencer, IA the daughter of Preston and Ruth Freemen Stone. Betty grew up on a farm in Webb, IA where she attended school and graduated from South Clay High School in 1969. She later moved to Cedar Rapids where she worked at Square D for 34 years and made many life long friends. Her passions included traveling, gardening, being surrounded by family and friends, and spending time with her granddaughter. Her smile and outgoing personality will be forever remembered by the people that loved her.
Betty is survived by her two daughters Angela McWilliams and husband Joe, and Corinna Egge and husband Mike; her granddaughter Alexandra Egge; their father Russ Andersen, her fiancé Bob Pedersen, her two sisters Mary Norgaard and husband David, and Linda Johnson and husband John; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents, Preston and Ruth Stone.
